On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Grants Cibola County Schools (GCCS) officially swore in three
newly elected and reelected School Board members to serve four-year terms through 2029.
The members sworn in were Courtney Clawson, T. Walter Jaramillo, and Monica Salazar.
During the same meeting, the GCCS Board of Education elected its officers for the coming
year. Francie Lee, an existing board member since 2024, was re-elected to serve as Board
President. T. Walter Jaramillo, newly re-sworn in, was selected to continue to serve as Vice
President of the Board, and Courtney Clawson, also newly elected and sworn in, was selected
to serve as GCCS Board Secretary.
As the meeting concluded, Dr. Guy Archambeau informed the Board of his decision to resign
from his position, effective January 20, 2026.
The GCCS Board of Education will follow district policy to address this transition and will
hold a special board meeting on January 12, 2026, to discuss the timeline and to officially
accept Dr. Archambeau’s resignation. Additional details regarding the process for filling this
important vacancy will be forthcoming. In accordance with GCCS policy, the Board of
Education will have 45 days to identify and appoint a suitable replacement, with the process
beginning after the January 12 meeting.

● District 1 : Monica Salazar, Member

● District 4 : Francie Lee, Board President
● District 5 : Guy Archambeau (serving until January 20, 2026; vacancy to be filled by
application and appointment within 45 days)
